David Haresign joined Bonstra Architects in 2004 and formed Bonstra | Haresign ARCHITECTS in 2005. David brings 34 years of experience to B|HA, designing and managing master plans, corporate, commercial and institutional buildings, mixed-use, multi-family market-rate, luxury and affordable housing, historic preservation and adaptive use, and corporate interiors projects, including award winning projects Parker Flats at Gage School, Pershing Court office condos, the Shelton, commercial lobby renovations and building additions, and a smart-growth TOD master plan for Capital One. Prior to forming B|HA, David led design teams on headquarters for AOL, MITRE, and Freddie Mac. His work has been recognized by the AIA and industry groups with over 60 awards for design excellence, and is featured in publications including Architectural Record, Interior Design, Architecture DC, Inform magazines, and the Washington Post. David lectures to industry groups, participates as critic and lecturer at architecture schools, and is an entitlements expert. A registered architect, David is Treasurer of AIA|DC, and an affiliate member of the Potomac Valley and Northern Virginia Chapters of the American Institute of Architects. David is Co-Chair of the 2012 National AIA Convention Host Chapter Committee and AIA|DC's Design Excellence Committee. David completed his architecture degree at the University of Virginia with graduate studies in planning.
