Located within a notable urban historic district, this unique adaptive reuse project incorporates a former coal distribution facility designed by John A. Lankford, Virginia and DC's first registered African-American architect. Abandoned since the 1968 Martin Luther King riots devastated this area, this $9M, 27-unit project includes the complete restoration of the historic building and the construction of a new 7-story residential addition beside and behind the restored building.
