The Jury’s Comments

At this year’s ULI Washington Real Estate Trends Conference, the jury praised the Ten as being “on the leading edge of the trend, and an example worthy of emulation. It is a luxury urban building, pulling down market-high rents per square foot, and its mix includes three- and four- bedroom units, deliberately aimed at facilitating more affordable group living. The ground floor features eight live/work units with direct access to the street that leased up quickly with small retailers. The entire building aims at creating convenient, mobile, 21st century collaborative community living. A lending library of occasional-use items such as irons and vacuum cleaners eliminates the need for residents to store them. The jury was impressed with the interior and exterior quality of design and materials. All in all, this building presents a project worthy of emulation for an urban infill site.”
