The site of this mixed-use project is located on the corner of 14th Street and Rhode Island Avenue, NW; the existing 1-story retail building is formerly known as Barrel House Liquors. The Greater 14th Steret Historic District contains a vibrant mix of new and historic structures in a neighborhood that continues to undergo significant development. The design of this project continues that tradition by preserving the existing historic fabric of the site, while filling in the “missing teeth” in the street wall with a contextual modern building. The project will combine two lots into a single lot of record, for the construction of a new 7-story building comprised of 37 residential units over ground floor retail. Parking will be provided in the retail alley.
