Bonstra | Haresign ARCHITECTS is pleased to announce the recent appointment of Bill Bonstra, FAIA, LEED AP to the Jubilee Support Alliance Board of Directors.

Founded in 1984 by a group of Washington, DC business leaders, the Jubilee Support Alliance (JSA) brings in-kind and financial resources to Jubilee Housing, an Adams Morgan based, affordable-housing nonprofit. Today, JSA continues to provide support through fundraising and innovative programs for the Jubilee community.

“We are thrilled to welcome Bill Bonstra to the JSA Board of Directors. He is a respected leader and shares a passion for carrying out the mission of Jubilee Housing and the entire Jubilee community in Adams Morgan. I look forward to working with Bill and spreading the good word about Jubilee throughout Washington, D.C.,” said Jim Mustard, president of JSA.

Bonstra | Haresign ARCHITECTS has enjoyed a long working relationship with Jubilee Housing. As part of its commitment to designing quality affordable housing, the firm has completed renovation and modernization work for several of Jubilee Housing’s affordable housing properties in Adams Morgan. Currently underway are renovations of Jubilee Housing’s Maycroft Apartments and Ontario Court.

As a member of JSA, Bill will support a number of innovative events for Jubilee Housing residents, including a Back to School Store, Jubilee Work Day, and a Holiday Program. Each August, the Back to School Store provides an opportunity for residents of Jubilee Housing to “shop” for school supplies and pay only a very small registration fee. Every fall, Jubilee Work Day gathers volunteers from local companies to paint, landscape, repair, and improve the Jubilee Housing properties. Each November and December, the Holiday Program provides residents of Jubilee Housing with gifts to brighten their holiday season and to help with their day-to-day lives.

Jubilee Housing is a non-profit organization founded in 1973 to provide affordable housing and supportive services to economically disadvantaged residents of the Adams Morgan neighborhood of Washington, DC. Jubilee serves more than 700 individuals and families, and has been a model for programs around the country seeking effective responses to the urban affordable housing crisis. The vision and purpose of Jubilee Housing is about more than providing housing, it is about making it possible for members of the Jubilee community to become their best selves in an atmosphere of supportive community.

Jubilee Support Alliance was founded in 1984, when a group of business leaders created the Jubilee Support Foundation to bring in-kind and financial resources to an Adams Morgan based affordable-housing non-profit, Jubilee Housing. Nearly three decades later and renamed the Jubilee Support Alliance, this dynamic group continues to provide support through fundraising and quality programs for the Jubilee community. JSA’s Board of Directors, Council of Advisors, and Auxiliary Board members represent companies that donate funds and lend resources to help Jubilee Housing continue to provide safe, quality affordable housing in the Washington, D.C. area. Through five innovative events, JSA raises both awareness and financial resources for Jubilee Housing.
